Realvest’s David Fuhrer
joins
David N. Fuhrer, president and chief financial officer of Vancouver-based Realvest Corp., has joined the board of the Clark County Skills Center Foundation. Fuhrer is a graduate of Portland State University and is a licensed certified public accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Oregon Society of CPAs. He is a member of the Oregon Financial Executives Institute and is a past member of the board of the Family YMCA of Clark County. The Skills Center, owned and operated by ten southwest Washington school districts, provides technical and professional training programs that prepare Clark County high school and college students for the workforce. Local Republicans like Giuliani Rudy Giuliani was the clear choice for president in a straw poll voting conducted by Clark County Republicans during their annual Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday. The former mayor of New York City was the favorite of nearly 40 percent of the 232 Republicans who participated in the informal vote. Giuliani received 81 votes. In second place with 46 votes was Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Arizona Sen. John McCain received 28 votes; Newt Gingrich earned 25 votes. County Republican vice chairman Ryan Hart points out that Clark County was the only urban western Washington county to give President George W. Bush the majority of votes in both 2000 and 2004. Foundation The doors open for the fifth annual Evergreen School District Foundation at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Heathman Lodge. The auction begins at 6 p.m. Entertainers for the silent and live auction are KATU talk show host Helen Raptis and her husband, David Schmitke, KPTV’s Handyman Dave and KEX radio’s Mr. Fix-it. Over the past four years the foundation’s auctions have grossed nearly $400,000, according to foundation president Gail Spolar. Admission is $50. The five-member volunteer commission sets salaries for the mayor and city council members. Deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14.
