Clark College initiates easy
plan for student tuition

Clark College is introducing a new and optional student tuition interest-free easy payment plan, effective with the spring quarter which begins April 2, reports interim president Bob Knight.

“Clark College has created the Student Tuition Easy Payment Plan to help students who want to continue their education but may not be able to pay the full tuition at the start of a quarter,” Knight says.

Under the plan, students may make three interest-free payments during the quarter. The plan is not a loan and therefore there is no interest to be paid, according to Knight. However students will be charged a $15 enrollment fee. The STEPP plan does not include expenses for books, parking and administrative fees. For further information, call 992-2177.

Battle Ground corridor to
I-5 to get further scrutiny

The State Department of Transportation is presenting another open house to further refine plans for the Highway 502 express route between Battle Ground and Interstate 5. The meeting is between 4 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the Battle Ground High School cafeteria, 300 W Main Street.

The route connects downtown Battle Ground west to the I-5 freeway along Highway 502, also known as NE 219th Street. The connection will create a new interchange at I-5 four miles north of the county fairgrounds interchange at NE 179th Street.

Under consideration at the March 27 session are alignments of streets along the new Highway 502 corridor.

Construction of the $29 million link between the city and the freeway is expected to begin this spring and be completed in 2009.
