Michael Cochran moves to
Bank of
Michael Cochran has been hired by the Bank of Clark County as a senior vice president and charged with developing east Vancouver business. Cochran formerly was with Riverview Community Bank. Cochran has over 34 years’ banking experience. He is a graduate of the University of Washington and the Pacific Coast Banking School. Cochran is a member of the board of directors of The Club at the Historic Reserve and is a past board member of Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust. Laura McKay named West Coast
Laura McKay has been appointed senior vice president-manager of treasury management products and sales for West Coast Bank. The 38-year veteran banker has been with West Coast Bancorp since 2000 and in 2006 became leader of the bank’s treasurer management function. McKay is a member of the National Association for financial Professionals and the Portland Treasury Manager’s Association. She is listed in the 2006 issue of 2,000 Notable American Women. McKay is a graduate of Oregon State University. She is accredited by the Association of Financial Professionals as a certified cash manager. West Coast Bancorp, one of Oregon Business Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, has $2.5 billion in assets and operates 59 offices in Washington and Oregon. Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Three young Oregon artists are in the spotlight at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s young artists concert this Saturday and Sunday in the concert hall at Skyview High School, 1300 NE 139th Street. Winners of a competition earlier this year are the following: pianist Vivian Chang, 14, Beaverton; alto saxophonist Nicole Skau, 16, Portland; and violinist Nanao Yamada, 14, Wilsonville. Salvador Brotons, the symphony orchestra’s artistic director, will conduct the 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, and 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15, concerts. Special guest conductor Saturday only is Tatsuo Ito, executive vice president of Vancouver-based SEH America, who will lead the symphony in Bizet’s L’ Arlesiene-Farandole. Ito earned the guest conductor spot by being a top bidder at the VSO annual fundraiser last year. John Pitman, music director and program host for KBPS All Classical 89l9 Radio, will narrate Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra at both performances. fundraiser Tea and “scrumptious goodies” are being served during a fundraiser for the Junior Symphony of Vancouver Sunday, April 15, in Carnelian Rose, 1803 Main Street. Entertainment will be provided by the Junior Symphony of Vancouver All Starts. There are two seatings, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Admission is $25 per person.
