Kim Maloney named finance director
for the Port of Camas-Washougal

Kim Maloney has been hired as director of finance for the Port of Camas-Washougal, port executive director Sheldon Tyler announced today.

Maloney most recently was director of business services for the Washougal School District. She has held various government accounting positions with the state auditor’s office, Educational Service District 112 and the City of Camas.

Maloney is a graduate of Central Washington University. She is a former member of the state Association of School Business Officials and the National Association of School Business Officials. She is active in civic organizations, including Loaves and Fishes, Washougal, Washougal Youth Basketball and the Washougal Schools Foundation.

The Port of Camas-Washougal manages a 400-acre industrial park, a 79-hangar general aviation airport and a 350-slip marina, the largest on the Washington side of the Columbia River. Forty port tenants include two restaurants and the Vancouver and the Dolphin Yacht Clubs.

Ericka Carlsen hired as special events director
for the Building Industry Association

Erika Carlsen has been appointed special events director for the Building Industry Association of Clark County, reports association executive director Davie Roewe.

Carlsen is a native of Vancouver and a graduate of the University of Washington. She is formerly a buyer for Nordstrom in Seattle.

Carlsen will organize and supervise all events including the annual Parade of Homes and the annual Remodeled Homes Tour. The Building Industry Association of Clark County is a 1,050-member trade association representing the interests of all businesses involved with land development and construction.

Medical Center’s hyperbaric medicine
center moves to main Mill Plain campus

Southwest Washington Medical Center’s Hyperbaric Medicine Center is being upgraded and moved from the Memorial campus to 8716 Mill Plain Boulevard at the medical center’s main campus Monday, April 16, reports Jonathan Dykstra, medical director of the hyperbaric center.

The center will offer Clark County its first access to new hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers. The system surrounds a patient with 100 percent oxygen at higher than normal atmospheric pressure, increasing the amount of oxygen in the patient’s blood, allowing red blood cells to pass more easily into the wound, healing the wound from the inside out, according to Dykstra.

“Without advanced therapies available at the center, some wounds can take years or even decades to heal. In extreme cases, wounds that don’t respond to treatment may lead to amputation,” Dykstra says.

Patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans may refer themselves to the center, Dykstra says. Primary care physicians may also refer patients to the Hyperbaric Medicine Center. For further information, call 514-4315.
