Lake Oswego-based Jordan Schrader Ramis PC Attorneys at Law has opened a Vancouver office in Suite C, 1498 SE Tech Center Place. The law firm which serves Pacific Northwest clients specializes in business, real estate and construction. Staffing the new office are Vancouver residents Christopher Reive and Thomas “Brad” Ericksen, both shareholders, and Christopher Veley, who recently joined the firm. Reive, active in Vancouver community affairs, is admitted to practice in Washington and Oregon, and before the U.S. District Court for Western and Eastern Districts of Washington, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Federal Circuit. Reive earned his law degree from Lewis and Clark College Northwestern School of Law. Eriksen is a member of the Clark County Bar and is immediate past president of the Greater Clark County Rotary. Eriksen earned his law degree from Willamette University College of Law and is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and the U.S. Tax Court. Veley was president of the Young Lawyers Section of the Clark County Bar in 2006. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Young Lawyers Division of the Washington State Bar, and is a member of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Building Industry Association of Clark County. To Catch a Preditor series Chris Hansen, reporter on the NBC series To Catch a Preditor and nationally known authority on protecting children from child predators, is featured speaker at the YWCA Clark County benefit luncheon at noon Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Hilton Vancouver Washington. Statistics show that one in three girls and one in five boys under the age of 18 have been victims of sexual assault. While the Internet poses new challenges, 85 percent of all sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows. YWCA Clark County’s Sexual Assault Program (SAP) works to prevent sexual assault. This past year, the program also provided services and support to 2,433 women, children and men victims/survivors, answered 2,226 calls for information and referral and 809 crisis calls. Utilities sets Saturday tour Clark Pubic Utilities has joined the American Solar Energy Society’s 12th annual solar tour to present ten examples of local solar and renewable energy projects in Clark County. The tour begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in Clark Public Utilities’ Electric Center community room at 1200 Fort Vancouver Way. Participants may tour some or all of the sites, according to utility spokesperson Mick Shutt. Information will be provided on utility, state and federal incentives for the installation of energy-efficient and renewable energy solutions. People Jann Bagley has been hired as financial officer for Affordable Community Environments, reports ACE executive director Pam Brokaw. Also appointed to the ACE staff is Shane McWhorter, as residential services coordinator. ACE owns and manages 115 rental units in Orchards and is developing two new construction projects at the U.S. Veterans Administration campus and in Fruit Valley.
