The campaign, created by corporate communications manager Mick Shutt, featured radio, television and newspaper ads with the theme, “You depend on the West’s most reliable electric service. Every day.” Customer communications manager Lena Wittler earned a second place award for her work in creating the utility web site www.clarkpublicutilities.com, and for the utility’s Owner¹s Manual publication, and a third place award for Currents, a customer newsletter. More than 160 entries were submitted for judging in the annual event. The awards were presented recently at the NWPPA Northwest Innovations Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. Pridemore and

Society’s fall show The Southwest Washington Watercolor Society’s annual fall juried show of paintings continues in the Westfield Shoppingtown Mall through Sunday, Oct. 14. Works by regionally and nationally know artists are on display. Visitors are being asked to vote on the “People’s Choice” painting Insiderman needs to clean office We wrote a story about Clark County Development Disabilities Awards presentations yesterday, and every one of the award winners we wrote about received their awards a year ago. How do you suppose that that news release surfaced 365 days late? Considering that Gina Bacon is board chair of the Clark County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council, this is about as dumb a thing as Insiderman has done, at least this year. However, we received a fresh news release this morning containing the names of the 2007 award winners, and they are listed in a separate story in today’s newsletter. Less egregious, but equally dumb, we misspelled Vancouver performance analyst Tom Nosack’s name by leaving out the c for which Nosack upbraided us, saying his daughter wouldn’t recognize who he was. The world of websites being what they are, we have retroactively corrected the misspelling, so Nosack can show it to his daughter.
