Free Clinic gets $100,000 Southwest
Washington Medical Center Foundation grant

The Southwest Washington Medical Center Foundation has presented a $100,000 general operating grant to the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, reports foundation director Jean Rahn.

Says Rahn: “We recognize that the medical and dental services the Free Clinic provides not only have a positive impact on the community, but they also play a beneficial financial role in lessening the charity burden of the medical center.”

Last year the Free Clinic served over 16,000 people for less than $1 million, which translates into several million dollars of value for the entire community, according to Nancy Pare, the Free Clinic’s executive director.

Over 550 medical, dental and lay persons volunteer to provide Free Clinic services. SWMC has been a partner with the Free Clinic since it opened in 1990.
