Skills Center’s Andrew
McColley
Andrew McColley, executive chef and instructor in the Clark County Skills Center Culinary Arts Restaurant Management program, has been named the Chef of the Year by the American Culinary Federation’s Chef de Cuisine Society of Oregon. He will compete in the Western Regional ACF culinary competition in April in Seattle against 12 other Chefs of the Year for the right to enter the national competition at the ACF convention next July in Orlando, Florida. McColley was recognized for being an “outstanding culinarian who works and cooks in a full-service dining facility, has demonstrated the highest standard of culinary skills, advanced the cuisine of America and given back to the profession through the development of students and apprentices.” A graduate of the Skills Center’s first Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management class in 1984, McColley has been the program’s instructor for the past 17 years. McColley is a graduate of the Western Culinary Institute. He worked as executive sous chef for the Portland Airport Sheraton, opened Andrew’s Restaurant and Catering in Vancouver, and published a northwest regional cuisine cookbook, "Andrew’s Secrets” in 1996. In 2002 McColley was awarded a Washington State Award for Excellence in Teaching. Many of his students have become managers, chefs, corporate executive chefs, internationally recognized chefs and corporate trainers. Friday, Oct. 24th, his current

reservations. Blanchett and Petracca Anita Blanchette has been hired as an administrative coordinator and Jenny Petracca as a sales assistant at the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, according to chamber president and CEO Kim Capeloto.
Anita Blanchette Jenny Petracca Blanchette will coordinate and administer all operations of the Chamber and provide overall support for staff and CEO. Prior to joining the Chamber, she worked as a bookkeeper for Summit View Church. Blanchette is a graduate of the International Air Academy. Her career includes positions as bookkeeper, administrative assistant and bank teller. Petracca will be responsible for prospecting and networking with potential Chamber members and and selling chamber memberships. Previously, Petracca spent eight years at Shelter Products, Inc., a Portland-based wholesale lumber supplier. where she assisted the sales team and general manager. Petracca is enrolled at Clark College. The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce has served the Southwest Washington business community since 1890. Columbia Credit Union Columbia Credit Union has won two Spectrum marketing awards from the state credit union league, reports Colleen Boccia, senior vice president of marketing and chief deposit officer. The awards were for “green” branding in corporate practices, community outreach, member education and rewards, and for its website for creativity, content and ease of navigation. Red Cross calling for The American Red Cross of Southwest Washington is asking for nominations of persons for real heroes awards to be presented in March 2009.
