The 147-page draft plan is available for public review and comment through Tuesday, December 2. The Regional Solid Waste Management Program will also host a public open house on Thurs., Nov. 13 to share information and answer questions about the program updates. That event will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clark County Public Works Operations Center, 4700 N.E. 78th Street in Hazel Dell. State law requires counties and cities to maintain a 20-year comprehensive plan to address how public agencies reduce, reuse, recycle and dispose of solid wastes and that the plan be updated every five years. The Regional Solid Waste Management Program is a coordinated effort covering unincorporated Clark County and its cities. The Board of Clark County Commissioners will conduct a final plan adoption hearing on December 9. The plan is online at www.clark.wa.gov/recycle/documents.html. Citizens may also request a compact disk version by calling (360) 397-6118 ext. 4352 or e-mail to solidwaste@clark.wa.gov. The plan is available in alternative formats upon request. Calendar
