Clark County Installs Video Phones for
citizens who are deaf/hard of hearing

Clark County has installed Public Access Video (PAV) phones to improve communication for people utilizing Clark County services who are deaf or hard of hearing. One phone is located on the ground floor of the Clark County Courthouse at 1200 Franklin St., Vancouver. The other is on the second floor of the Center for Community Health, 1601 East Fourth Plain Blvd., Suite C214, Vancouver.

The video phones are multi-purpose, Internet-based communications tools that combine a standard pay phone, videophone, keyboard and camera in one vandalism-resistant package. This allows anyone to make calls, including people who are deaf, hard of hearing and speech-disabled.

Installation of the PAV phones is one more step the county is taking to better serve citizens, especially those with hearing disabilities.

To learn more about PAV phones, access Communication Services for the Deaf, Inc., at http://www.csdpav.com.
