Kimsey puts Free Clark County auditor Greg Kimsey, who annually has a pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration as a fund-raising event for his Republican candidacy for auditor, this year is holding the event as a fundraiser for the Free Clinic. All money received will be donated to the clinic, which provides free health care to adults and children in Clark County. The Kimsey/Free Clinic Pre-St. Patrick’s Day event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 12. Reservations can be made by email, kimsey@comcast.net, or by calling 521- 6685.
Clark offering new scholarships In celebration of Clark College’s 75th anniversary, the college is offering two new scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year. One scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Clark College student, and one scholarship will be awarded to a continuing Clark College student. Each will receive $3,000 toward tuition for one year and $750 for books and supplies at the Clark College Bookstore. The scholarships are donations from Arnerich, Massena & Associates, Inc., in support of the college’s diamond anniversary. Application forms are available in Microsoft Word and interactive PDF format on the Clark College Web site: www.clark.edu/anniversaryscholarship. Deadline for applications is Friday, April 10. Pacific Continental Corporation, the bank holding company for Pacific Continental Bank, reports that its board of directors has declared a quarterly ten cents per share cash dividend payable March 13 to shareholders of record on March 3. The ten cents per share is unchanged from the company's 2008 quarterly dividends. Overall, this is the twenty-sixth year in a row the company has paid cash dividends. with Magenta Theater presents William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by David Bower and produced by Magenta artistic director Jaynie Roberts, as the debut main-stage production in its new facility at The Magenta Theater, 606 Main Street. The play will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday though Saturday, March 12-14 and March 19-21.There will be a 2 p.m. matinee performance, Saturday, March 21. Magenta plans to bring a variety of family-friendly entertainment to the space, including improv and live music as well as plays. ComedySportz plans a return to the space for four shows on Friday and Saturday, March 27-28. Mayor’s State of City Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard presents the annual State of the City address at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Hilton Vancouver, Washington. The address, titled “Accelerate Through the Curves,” will be descriptive of how the city will cope with and take advantage of current economic conditions.
