The 22 members were invited by CRC earlier this year to assist with light-rail design and begin discussions on the options to connect rail through downtown Vancouver to Clark College. The VWG recommended a light-rail route and discussed station and park and ride locations. The recommended route has trains traveling north on Broadway Street and south on Washington Street. Trains would then travel east/west on McLoughlin Boulevard. The terminus station would be located at a park and ride near Clark College and the Marshall/Luepke Center. As a part of the CRC project, light rail will be extended from the Expo Station in Portland, across Hayden Island, to Vancouver. In downtown Vancouver, the MAX yellow line would touch down from the replacement bridge onto Washington at 5th Street. Summaries and materials from the group meetings can be found online.
