Leadership Clark County announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors, Katie Foehl and Temple Lentz, who joined the board this summer.

For more information on Leadership Clark County, or to inquire about joining this year’s class, contact Kathy Scott at 567-1085 or director@leadershipclarkcounty.com.

Vancouver police traffic unit prepare for school’s return

The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is preparing for the start of the school year by enforcing the 20 mph school zone limit. Drivers are encouraged to monitor their speed, be extra cautious and attentive (remember there is a no texting law and a hands - free cell phone law in effect, too) as they drive through areas where students may be walking or riding bikes on their way to school.

Parents with kids returning to school are also reminded that anyone riding a bicycle, roller skates, in-line skates, skateboard, or scooter needs to wear a helmet.
