Williams chosen city manager in Battle Ground On Tuesday, The Battle Ground City Council appointed John Williams as city manager, a position he has been filling on an interim basis since January. Williams joined the city in June 2007 as deputy city manager and has more than 18 years of experience in city government. Williams' role, under the council-manager form of government, is to carry out the policy and vision as set by the council. He also serves as the manager of all city departments. Shirley Gross brings her more than 14 years of experience working for nonprofits in Southwest Washington to her new role as donor and nonprofit services officer at the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. "Shirley's experience in development and nonprofit management will allow us to increase our capacity to offer support and guidance to local organizations," said Anne Digenis, donor services and grants officer at the foundation. "Shirley will help us take our services to a new level and deepen our ties in the community." Dow promoted by West Coast Bank Lisa Dow has been promoted to credit service manager at West Coast Bank. Her 28-year career includes 17 years in senior management with West Coast. She also serves on the boards of several business organizations, including the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. "Lisa's accomplished combination of leadership skills and broad banking experience make her uniquely qualified to successfully manage these important credit administrative functions," said Hadley Robbins, executive vice president. Dow is a longtime Vancouver resident with degrees from the University of Puget Sound and the University of California Berkeley. News Briefs Leadership Clark County is hosting an open house for prospective students at 6 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, March 24, at the Clark Public Utilities Community Room, 1200 Fort Vancouver Way. Anyone interested in applying is invited. Leadership Clark County is a 10-month training and development program which strives to create community leaders. The 11-member commission will work to enhance and support the growth of the local economy through collaboration among patrons of the arts, artists, the business community, service groups and schools.
