| Being part of the community band is easy!
Dig out that old horn
and play a few notes; you will be surprised how fast it comes back! There are no fees. All positions in the
Vancouver Community Band
are strictly voluntary. And there is a lot of FUN and enjoyment. All you
need is instrument, music stand, and desire. The majority our band
members are amateurs. Members range from middle school to retired. High
School, 8th grade and home school musicians are encouraged to join.
Our goal: promoting the enjoyment of music in our community and helping
revitalize the American tradition of the town band. We perform a wide
range of music: marches, folk tunes, musicals, jazz and classical
adaptations. Our concerts are always free. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 6:00
- 7:30 PM in the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1220 NE
68th St., Vancouver. Contact director, Dr. Jim Rourk, 360 735-7806.
