			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Approximately   700-800 people from the <a href="http://www.vansd.org/">Vancouver School District</a> attended the STEM Open House on <strong>Tuesday, Jan.  31</strong>. Vancouver’s newest magnet school will focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The study of  art and design principles will be integrated within the core  curriculum. Students  will participate in real-world learning  experiences involving  problem-solving and hands-on activities in a  technology-rich, modern learning environment. The  school will open in September, contingent on the   state’s budget situation. The  school ultimately will serve students in grades six through 12. In its first year, the school will enroll a limited number of students  in  grades six, seven, nine and 10. During the start-up year, the school will operate at  two sites. Bach.
