Rosemere
Neighborhood Association president says new status
invigorating
The president
of the disenfranchised Rosemere Neighborhood
Association, Dvija
Bertish, declared the association’s new
status as a “sovereign organization” to be somewhat
invigorating.
Last week the
Vancouver City Council revoked the neighborhood
association’s status as an official representative
neighborhood association.
While no
longer eligible for city grants, the association
remains a valid 501(c)3 organization.
About 30
residents attended a Tuesday meeting of the
association, at which time members decided to
continue monthly meetings.
Meanwhile
other residents of the Rosemere neighborhood have
approached the city to begin a process of creating a
recognized neighborhood association.
