County
chamber of commerce forming
Although
related in name only, a new chamber of commerce is
being formed in Clark County
Called the
Clark County Chamber of Commerce, the organization
has been active since last November, according to
its founder and interim executive director,
Izad Khormaee.
Board
members, in addition to Khormaee, who is president
of E1 Solutions Inc., an information technology
solution provider, are
Dee Metro,
president of Excalibur Limo;
Denise Pearce,
Opsahl, Shepp & Company;
Terry Phillips,
president, The Phillips Group;
Michael Polvay,
general manager, Bill Copps Inc.; and
Shane Wilcox,
general manager, the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay.
According to
Khormaee, “Although we have excellent chambers and
business associations focused on city cores,
Vancouver, Camas, Battle Ground, no one business
advocacy organization existed to provide leadership
and coverage for the whole of Clark County.”
“Our goal,”
Khormaee continues, “is to ensure that the more than
370,000 residents and over 10,000 businesses in
Clark County receive the appropriate level of
recognition and influence at [the] metro, state and
national level.”
