architects and engineers, open office in downtown Murray's
Corner
Group Mackenzie,
Portland-based architecture and engineering firm, has opened an
office in the newly renovated Murray’s Corner Building, 801
Washington Street. The first floor of the building is occupied
by Tommy O’s Restaurant.
The company includes in
its list of current southern Washington clients the Dollar Tree
distribution center in Ridgefield, NW Natural and Columbia Tech
Center.
Group Mackenzie’s
expansion to Vancouver continues the record-breaking number of
businesses that have relocated or expanded in southwest
Washington during the past year, according to
Bart Phillips, president
of Columbia River Economic Development Council.
In 2003, Phillips said,

Vancouver School Board
will name one of 11 candidates to board membership this month
A successor to Vancouver
School District board member
Randi Holland, who resigned last month, is to be selected
from 11 applicants. The board hopes to be able to make an
appointment by May 17.

Holland, who was a member
of the board for 16 years, resigned in order to spend more time

Peter Hendrickson,
manager of assessment for the Evergreen School District, has
been elected president elect, 2004, and president, 2005, of the
National Association of Test Directors. Test directors from
large school districts in North America are members of the
association.
