Clark County ranked
number 1 in the nation for mental health services to children
An evaluation of 62
communities in the United States, each of which received $8
million grants from the Center for Mental Health Services in
1998 gives the Clark County program the top ranking in the
United States, according to deputy director of county Department
of Community Services Cheri
Dolezal.
The grants, which expire
in August, were made to give communities opportunities to
simplify access to local mental health services for children.
In scoring at the top,
the county program got high marks for family focused services
and for developing above average children’s living arrangements.
