ESD 112 public information staff
to get Golden Medallion Award
The Educational Service
District 112 communications staff has won the prestigious Golden
Medallion Award for a collaborative public outreach campaign to
communicate the local impact of No Child Left Behind.

behalf of ESD 112 and southwest Washington school public
relations professionals will be

WSU Vancouver “Bookie”
to be
managed by Barnes & Noble
The student bookstore at
the Washington State University Vancouver Salmon Creek campus
will be managed by Barnes & Noble College Booksellers under a
contract agreed to in Pullman for all WSU student bookstores.
Barnes & Noble, the
nation’s largest and oldest retail bookseller, currently
operates more than 500 college campus bookstores nationwide.
The WSU bookstores are
owned by the students under the direction of a five-member
corporate board of directors. Board chair
Ashley Lund says the
contract should result in higher retained earnings and lower
textbook prices for students.

Archaeological Field
School at Fort Vancouver renewed for fourth year
Washington State
University Vancouver, Portland State University and the National
Park Service will conduct their fourth annual archaeology field
school June 15 through July 31.
This year, excavation
will be near the Fort Vancouver powder magazine, within the
former Hudson’s Bay fort.
