Celebrating the Georges who did it
First citizens, restaurateurs,
former chamber of commerce presidents, George Goodrich, 94,
above,
(Totem Pole, Parker House, Quay) and George Propstra, 90,
below, (Holland, Burgerville USA, Beaches) each celebrated birthdays
yesterday, Goodrich at home, Propstra at Esther Short Park.
Hundreds of well-wishers joined festivities for the two men who
in the second half of Vancouver’s 20th century were the Georges
who epitomized the adage, “Let George do it.”
