Jeanne Harris getting Democratic competition in race for Clark
County commissioner
Camas attorney
John Hagensen today
announced he will be a Democratic candidate for Clark County
commissioner, District 2, the post currently held by retiring
commissioner Democrat Judie
Stanton.
Vancouver city councilmember
Jeanne Harris earlier on
declared she is a candidate, and she has been actively
campaigning for the post.
Hagensen and Harris will face off in the
Tuesday, Sept. 14, primary election.
Marc Boldt,
17th District Republican state representative, has also
expressed an interest in the position.
Hagensen currently is an elected member of
the Port of Camas-Washougal Port Commission and an elected
member of the Camas School Board.
Hagensen is a 1973 Camas High School
graduate, a graduate of Clark College and Central Washington
University, and, following a stint as owner and manager of the
family business, Fern Prairie Market, he earned a law degree
from Lewis & Clark College.
Filing for elective
offices begins today
Candidates for federal, state, county and
local political offices may begin filing by mail today, reports
Clark County Elections supervisor
Tim Likness.
Candidates who wish to file in person must
wait until 8 a.m. Monday, July 26. The filing period officially
