Lloyd Tyler appointed
city’s chief financial officer
Lloyd
Tyler, former Seattle investment banker and for the past seven years
chief financial officer of the North American Development Bank, San Antonio, has
been named chief financial officer for the City of Vancouver by city manager
Pat McDonnell. Tyler succeeds CFO,
Paul Lewis, who retired in August.
Tyler has over 18 years’ experience in
public finance. In his position with the North American Development Bank, Tyler
was responsible for forming and implementing over $2 billion in financial plans
involved with North American Free Trade Association projects in the U.S. and
Mexico.
Tyler, who was reared in Walla Walla,
graduated from the University of Washington and earned a masters degree in
business administration from the American Graduate School of International
Management.
Gregory Robinson named interim
director
for Columbia River Mental Health Services
Gregory Robinson, deputy director at Columbia River Mental Health
Services, has been appointed interim director, CRMHS president
Jim Justin announced. His appointment
coincides with the retirement of CRMHS director
John Magnano.
Robinson has been with CRMHS since
1993, when he was appointed director of finance and controller. He is a graduate
of the University of Oregon and holds a masters degree in business
administration from Portland State University.
Columbia River Mental Health Services
serves more than 9,000 people in southern Washington.
A retirement reception for Magnano is
at 5:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay.
Chamber hosts gubernatorial forum
Friday
Gubernatorial candidates, Republican
Dino Rossi and Democrat
Christine Gregoire,
will appear in a debate-like setting at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the
Red Lion Hotel at the Quay, hosted by the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce
and sponsored by the Bank of Clark County.
It will be the only joint appearance
by both candidates in southern Washington.

Beth Quartarolo will moderate the forum.

Special meetings focus
on city parking rates
Two special meetings of the Vancouver
Parking Advisory Committee have been called to discuss the city’s parking
budget, parking rates and parking fines.
The first is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Sept 29, in the Marshall Conference Room in the Esther Short building, 610
Esther Street. The second is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in the First Floor
Conference Room in City Hall.
Free workshop will show how to
beautify backyards naturally
A half-day workshop titled “Naturally
Beautiful Backyards” is being presented from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2,
in the Clark County Operations Center, 4700 NE 78th Street.
The workshop is offered to help home
owners beautify their grounds and at the same time reduce the need for toxic
pesticides. Subject matter includes plant selection, soil preparation, and tips
on attracting wildlife and beneficial insects.
The free workshop is sponsored by the
NW Hazel Dell Neighborhood Association, WSU Extension Watershed Stewards and the
