recognition luncheon sold out
Forty leaders and
visionaries, the Accomplished Under 40 group selected by the
Vancouver Business Journal and
Leadership Clark County, will be recognized at a sold-out luncheon at noon
Thursday, Nov. 11, in the Heathman Lodge.
The program, in its second year, recognizes Southwest
Washington’s young accomplished leaders, according to business journal publisher
John McDonagh. “It shines a light on a
group of individuals who care deeply about others and their community,” McDonagh
adds. Their profiles and accomplishments will be profiled in the Friday, Nov.
12, issue of the Vancouver Business Journal.

Jim Soli joins Clark County’s
Clean Water Program
Jim Soli has been
appointed water resources engineer for the Clark County Clean Water Program. He
will develop watershed programs and provide storm water engineering expertise
for the program.
Soli, an Oregon State University graduate, has 25 years’
experience in watershed management. Soli has worked for the City of Portland
managing several programs, including the Johnson Creek watershed. He most
recently worked for the City of Gresham as manager of Capital Improvements.
Steve Dunn will host Evergreen
School District Foundation auction
Steve Dunn, KATU
news anchor, will host the Evergreen School District Foundation, which begins at
5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in the Heathman Lodge.
Last year, the foundation raised more than $130,000 to
enhance educational opportunities for children in Evergreen Public Schools.
Admission to the auction is $50. Donated items are still
being accepted. For ticket and donation information, call

Orders for Kiwanis Texas ruby reds
should be placed immediately
Clark County’s six Kiwanis clubs are receiving their
annual shipment of 2,000 cases of Texas ruby red grapefruit Monday, Nov. 8,
according to Lynn Degerstedt,
spokesperson for the Kiwanis fund-raising effort
Degerstedt says last year the grapefruit sold out in less
than two weeks. He adds that the price is the same this year, $12 per case of 18
to 20 grapefruit each. The annual sale benefits Kiwanis child-related causes.

Clark County polling places are open through 8 p.m.
tonight. Absentee ballots must be postmarked today to be counted. Unmailed
absentee ballots may be taken to polling places, the county Elections
Department, 1408 Franklin Street, or dropped off at the kiosk on 14th Street
between Esther and Franklin Streets, but must be deposited before 8 p.m. to be
counted. g An informational and
recruiting meeting by the Clark County Sheriff’s office Law Enforcement Explorer
Scout Post is at 6 p.m. this evening in the county fairgrounds Public Safety
Center, 505 NW 179th Street, Ridgefield. The program is open to persons 15 and a
half to 21 who have an interest in law enforcement.
