Ted Broussard is Clark's newest dean

Ted Broussard has been named dean of Student Enrollment and Financial Programs at Clark College. Most recently Broussard had been counselor and coordinator for Student Development and interim executive dean of student services at Green River Community College in Auburn.

A Louisiana native, Broussard is a graduate of the University of Louisiana. He earned a masters degree in counseling from Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Broussard will be responsible for admissions and registration, credentialing, and student financial aid.

Memorial service for artist
Craig Pozzi is Saturday

A memorial service for Clark County artist and photographer Craig Dennis Pozzi is at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Unitarian Universalist  Fellowship 4505 E 18th Street.

Mr. Pozzi had taught photography at Clark College, Portland State University and the University of Utah. He was born Nov. 18, 1942, Pittsburgh, and lived in Clark County for the past 13 years. Mr. Pozzi was a member of the American Civil Liberties Union and was involved with alternative radio. 

Survivors include his wife, Angela; a daughter, Nicola B. Pozzi; his mother, Arlene McDowell, Escondido, Calif.; and sisters, Susan Cassellius, Valley Center, Calif., and Janis Pozzi-Johnson, Chicago.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pozzi Photo Trust, iQ Credit Union, P.O. Box 1739, Vancouver, WA 98668-1739.

James Gaspar joins First Indy

James Gaspar has joined First Independent Bank as assistant vice president and relationship manager in the Commercial Banking Department.

Gaspar, who is a graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz, will be responsible for inventory and accounts receivable loans, equipment and machinery loans, and commercial and real estate loans.

U.S. Rep. Brian Baird, (D-3rd) has been unanimously selected by his fellow western Democrats to serve on the Congressional Democratic Steering Committee, a powerful leadership group.  He will represent the interests of members from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.  Steering Committee members will give input into committee assignments for the upcoming 109th Congress.

There is no charge. g The Clark County Canvassing Board meets at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, in the Clark County Elections Office, 1408 Franklin Street, to set a time for a machine recount of the November 2 ballots cast for governor in Clark County. The meeting is open to the public.
