Paintball distributor lands in Vancouver

Xtremez, one of the leading Internet retailers in the rapidly growing paintball industry, is moving its headquarters and distribution center from Tualatin to 1212 W Fourth Plain.

The company, which also operates two retail stores in the Portland area, will open a retail store at the Vancouver location in July. According to Xtremez president and CEO Adam Sites, the local retail store will also include an indoor paintball playing field.

The company has acquired eight acres and the former Newark Paper Products.

Xtremez, currently employing 28, was founded in 1995. It is a designer, distributor and retailer of equipment, accessories and apparel for the sport of paintball and other action sports. The company also markets a line of products under the CORE brand name.

According to Sites, the sport of paintball has boomed in recent years to nearly a $400 million annual industry, attracting as many as ten million participants in the United States.

Mayor Royce Pollard says, “Vancouver should be proud that we can attract a growing e-commerce company that can relocate anywhere. Not only will this renovate and fill an older industrial building with quality jobs, it will also bring more people to our city.”

Final hearing on PDX noise
study set over to July 13

The final meeting had been scheduled for June 8. Vancouver residents along the east-west flight paths have thus far been rebuffed in their efforts to have flight paths moved south and over industrial land in Portland.
