Vancouver City Council to hear further
planning on Fourth Plain Study area

The Vancouver City Council, in workshop session at 4 p.m. today, will hear further details on the Fourth Plain Corridor study being conducted by the Vancouver Housing Authority, working with Clark College and the city.

The housing authority, recently named a Public Development Authority to pursue development of 15 centers and corridors in the city, has identified the Fourth Plain Corridor as ideally situated for a small business incubator.

The incubator would draw together workforce development resources, training, and small business finance programs to provide a point of departure for prospective businesses interested in beginning or expanding their businesses in that corridor.

The geographic area that currently is populated with the city’s largest concentration of ethnic restaurants and minority-owned businesses is generally along Fourth Plain Boulevard between Fort Vancouver Way and Andresen Road.

Calendar

The Vancouver City Council meets in workshop session at 4 p.m. today and follows that with a 7 p.m. regularly scheduled public meeting. n The regularly scheduled 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, Clark Public Utilities board of commissioners’ meeting has been canceled. n Clark County Commissioners meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19.
