Thousands cheer as Legacy
Salmon Creek Hospital opens

Robert Pallari, CEO/president of Legacy Health System Saturday,
with help from Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard and Clark County
commissioner chair Betty Sue Morris, dedicated Legacy Salmon
Creek Hospital Saturday.

An estimated 3,000 people toured the newest hospital built in this state in 27 years and heard speeches dedicating the $275 million Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital, which will accept its first patients next Monday.

In construction the past two years at 211 NE 139th Street, the hospital will provide the Northwest Clark County with 151 private patient rooms, including 15 intensive care units in the medical facility’s state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care section.

Legacy Health Systems president and CEO Robert Pallari, on whose watch Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital was conceived, said that Portland health care providers had long coveted Clark County. We were the first to commit to being part of Clark County four years ago, and “Today we have become part of the community.”

Jonathan Avery, is administrator of
new Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital,
which will begin accepting patients
next Monday.

The new hospital will employ about 600 full- and part-time people, about a third of whom were Legacy Health System employees who worked in Oregon but live in Clark County.
