workshop Clark County’s long-range planners are offering a workshop on mixed-use “village centers” proposed in the county’s earlier long range growth planning documents. The workshop is at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the main hearing room in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin Street. The county has designated 300 acres of new land for mixed-use development, and the county plan envisions five village centers, four on or near Interstate 5, and one about mid-way between Battle Ground and east Vancouver. Planners envision that each village or neighborhood center would have a unique identity and would provide for community, residential, retail and office uses. Vancouver City
