Clark College adds
Portland State
University to its co-admission ranks
Clark College, which
just last week established a co-admission agreement with
Marylhurst University, tomorrow will make formal an agreement with
Portland State University for the same co-admission status,
reports Clark president R. Wayne
Branch.
The community college
has long had a co-admission agreement with Washington State
University Vancouver.
Last year, over 100
Clark College students transferred to PSU, making the Portland
university the second highest recipient of Clark students after
WSU Vancouver.
The agreement will be
signed at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Penguin Student Union
on the Clark Campus, 1800 E. McLoughlin Boulevard, by Branch and
PSU president Daniel O. Bernstine.
The new partnership will provide numerous benefits for Clark
students, including coordinated federal financial aid
disbursement, early on-site advising and special scholarship
opportunities, according to Branch.
Portland State
University, which serves more students and confers more masters
degrees annually than any other Oregon university, is also one of
the largest universities in the western United States. Clark, with
12,500 full- and part-time students, is the third largest
community college in Washington.
