Vancouver city property tax
rate to go down The Vancouver city council is expected to approve an ordinance approving a 1 percent increase in city property tax during its 7 p.m. public meeting this evening in City Hall but because of overall increased assessed value, the tax rate for individual properties will decrease. The city estimates it will get a total tax levy increase of $335,182 from the 2006 tax levy, and will get an additional $677,949 from assessments on $218 million in new construction added in 2005. The city estimates that the tax rate for 2006 will be $2.84 per $1000 assessed value. At that rate the annual City property taxes on a typical property ($200,000 assessed value) would be $568, or $52 less than the taxes paid to the City in 2005 on a home of the same assessed value. The exact tax rate will be set by the Clark County assessor for tax bills that will be due in 2006. Black Entrepreneurs meet Tuesday State Rep.
