OSP says comply with traction Oregon State Police troopers and Clackamas County sheriff's deputies will be targeting drivers who fail to comply with chain and traction tire requirements this weekend on Mt. Hood area highways. "The extra enforcement hopefully will lessen some of the problems we had during Thanksgiving weekend, when numerous vehicles lost control or were involved in crashes resulting in long delays for other drivers and a temporary closure of Highway 35," according to Oregon State Police sergeant Mike Turner. Mountain weather road reports are available 24 hours a day by calling (503) 588-2941, or by going to wwwtripcheck.com. The website includes a Government Camp camera providing real time images of conditions. Washington and Oregon ski conditions also can be found on the Daily Insider website.
