For the most part players will be northwest college baseball players, who will pay $500 to play the season and the chance to advance through American Amateur Baseball Congress’s annual national tournament in Huntsville, Texas, in mid-August. In 2005 Sanford was assistant coach of the Wenatchee Apple Sox. Teams in the league, in addition to the Vancouver Flyers, are Pacific Javelinas and Portland Titans, both of Portland, Bend Bucks, Olympia Athletics, Seaside Wildcats, Southern Oregon Riverdogs and Tacoma Cardinals. Ticket prices are $5 in advance, $6 at the gate. Season passes which are available for $75, are and good for all NWCL games in Vancouver, Sckavone Field, Portland and Seaside. The league will pay the Vancouver School District for use of the field, according to district superintendent John Erickson.
