Arch Miller announces
re-election
Arch Miller, chairman and founder of International Air and Hospitality Academy, today announced he is a candidate for a fourth term on the Port of Vancouver board of commissioners. Miller was first elected to the three-member board in 1989. “We’ve accomplished a great deal, but there is still more to do,” Miller said. During his 17 years on the board, the port has increased the total number of jobs from 3,000 to more than 15,000, and assets have increased from $87 million to more than $200 million. Miller says: “The Port of Vancouver has a very bright future. Near term, development of the Columbia Gateway land is expected to add over 7,000 jobs, and the recent purchase of the Rufener, Alcoa and Evergreen properties will add an additional 5,000 jobs. It is my intention to make the port even more attractive as a freight and cargo destination while taking the needed steps to make it a major player for Pacific Rim and West coast traffic.” Miller is a founding director of the Bank of Clark County. He is a former president of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and Vancouver Rotary Club, founding president of the Vancouver Visitors and Convention Bureau, and he has served on numerous statewide and local boards and commissions.
