Kim Capeloto elected chairman
Kim Capeloto, president and COO of the Bank of Clark County, has been elected chairman of Identity Clark County, succeeding Ed Lynch, who has served as chairman of the organization since its formation nearly 14 years ago. Lynch was named chairman emeritus in recognition of his service to the organization that has spearheaded downtown Vancouver’s renaissance.
Joe Kortum, president and CEO of Southwest Washington Medical Center, has been elected vice chairman. Elected secretary was Scott Horenstein, Horenstein and Drew. Parker Cann, president and CEO of Columbia Credit Union, was elected treasurer. Newly elected board members are Lisa Lowe, shareholder in the law firm Schwabe Williamson and Wyatt, and Mary Robinson, president of Threshold Inc. Current board members are Patti Bishop, Bob Byrd, Scott Campbell, Paul Christensen, Ron Frederiksen, Eric Fuller, David Groth, Elie Kassab, Lance Killian, Tom Mears, Scott Milam, Tami Nesburg, Jerry Nutter, Roger Qualman, Pat Schaeffer, Keith Wallace and Lynch.
Rotary Foundation gives
Vancouver The Vancouver Rotary Foundation today announced it is making a $6,000 grant to the Vancouver Lake Crew to help that organization rebuild after suffering devastating losses during the recent west Clark County tornado. Estimates are that the nonprofit organization and its members lost up to $500,000 in rowing boats, gear and buildings. Annual YWCA meeting features The 81st YWCA Clark County membership meeting and annual celebration, which is free and open to the public, is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, in the YWCA Helene Schoen Center, 3609 Main Street. Keynote speaker is S. Renee Mitchell, award-winning columnist for the Oregonian. Also on the program will be presentation of the Val Joshua Racial Justice Award and the Youth Social Justice Award. Tommy O’s Super Bowl pool A Super Bowl event to benefit the Children’s Center in Vancouver. begins this evening in Tommy O's Lounge, 801 Washington Street, and continues through Super Bowl Sunday, February 3. Donations for the Children's Center will be created by patrons who buy squares in a scoring pool, but who will not win money. However, Tommy Owens, lounge and restaurant proprietor will offer prizes.
