Electric utility ahead of
projections Clark Public Utilities is about $6 million ahead of projections for the year, reports director of finance Rick Dyer. Almost all of the higher revenue is the result of higher revenue from power sales and lower-than-expected power supply costs, according to Dyer. Nevertheless, anticipated higher costs for wholesale power in 2009 will require utility commissioners to consider a rate increase effective early next year, according to Wayne Nelson, Clark Public Utilities’ general manager. This year, through August, the
utility added 1,400 new electric customers and 200 new water customers. Salvador Brotons conducts, Ryu
