Southwest Medical Group has announced the addition of seven new
providers to Southwest Medical Group OB/GYN Associates. The practice
includes some of the most experienced and accomplished OB/GYN
practitioners in Clark County. Joining the practice this month are
the following physicians: Joe Chang,

Artist reception Thursday
at DuckTales Kitchen

DuckTales Kitchen is hosting a reception for photographer
Jodi Tripp and potter
Letecia Enquist. The public
will have the opportunity to meet the artists between 6 and 8 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 19, at 612 Devine Road. Appetizers will be served and
a no-host bar will be available.
Tripp’s is known mostly for her barn images, but has included other
images in the titled show, Seasons
in Rural Clark County.
Enquist, has added pottery to her list of artistic mediums, as she
is well known for previous works in watercolor and acrylic.
All exhibited artwork is for sale. In lieu of the artist's
commission, a donation will be made to the Vancouver School District
Foundation's Artful Gift Fund in
support of art projects throughout the district.
Lapellah Restaurant to donate 72 Thanksgiving
dinners to the
Clark County Food Bank
Lapellah Restaurant, led by executive chef
David Mork, has coordinated
with the Clark County Food Bank to provide 72 Thanksgiving meals
with all the trimmings to members of the community who need the
meals most. These meals will go to 12 families selected by Food Bank
partners Salvation Army and YWCA Safechoice domestic violence
support programs. Some of the families are recovering from domestic
violence situations, while others are in need of emergency food
assistance after a period of prolonged unemployment.
Lapellah’s local purveyors are participating in the Thanksgiving
program as well; SP Turkeys is donating the turkeys, and Sheridan
Fruit and Gus & Co farms will be donating produce and other items.
Mork explains: “As a local business owner, we have much to be
thankful for, and this is just one small way we can give back to the
community.”
Community tree lighting
The City of Vancouver, in partnership with the Rotary Club of
Vancouver, will host the annual Community Tree Lighting in Esther
Short Park at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov, 27. Attendees will be treated
to coffee and cocoa from Tully's Coffee and entertainment from the
Vancouver School District's Combined High School Choir.
Immediately following the illumination, attendees will be treated to
holiday music played on the park's bell
tower by local carillon player Paul
Van Dyke. Later, an open invitation to attend the Vancouver
Pops Orchestra Concert at the Hilton Vancouver at 6:30 p.m. will
follow. The concert is free with a donation of non-perishable food.
Free parking is available in the Vancouver center parking garage,
and Esther Short Park is conveniently located along C-TRAN routes.

the 2009 Outstanding Alumni award reception and will honor the 2009
recipient, Paul Speer. The
event will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in
Water Resources Education Center, 4600 SE Columbia Way,
Vancouver. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person.
Beverages and heavy hors d’ oeuvres will be served. Attendees can

The 2009-2010 Clark College Jazz Ensemble,
under the direction of Rich Inouye,
will present a concert of big band jazz at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov.
20, in Gaiser Hall Student Center on the Clark College campus. This

students and feature favorites from the swing era as well as some
more contemporary arrangements written for the big band. The concert
