Vancouvercenter apartments filling up fast
Of the 194 apartments now completed in the
Vancouvercenter, across from downtown’s Esther Short Park, 50
percent are occupied.
Downtown Vancouver’s Vancouvercenter, facing
two blocks of Esther Short Park and catercorner from the rising
Hilton Hotel and convention center, is being filled up at a pace
that is encouraging developer Vandevco to predict that
construction of the fourth and final tower could begin this
fall.
It has been less than a year that apartment
leasing began, and already half of the 194 apartments are
occupied. Apartment sales are being handled by Key Properties,
696-2224.
The $100 million project, the most extensive
in downtown Vancouver history, will ultimately house 64
condominiums and 165,000 square feet of class A office space. So
far, 11,000 square feet is filled. Office tenants include Otak,
the architectural and design company that gave birth to
Vancouvercenter, occupying 5,261 square feet, Management
Recruiters, leasing 3,036 square feet, and Hilton Hotels, which
has just signed the third commercial lease.
Roger
Qualman, Norris Beggs Simpson executive vice president,
is the lead salesman for office and retail sales. For further
information on commercial sales, call Qualman at
699-7181.
Vancouvercenter will have 64 condominiums
when the south tower is completed. Of the 32 completed, ten have
been sold. Condominium sales are being handled by NW Realty
Group, 696-9774.
Already completed and in use are three
stories of secured parking for 800 vehicles. Operated by the
City of Vancouver, parking rates are just about the same as city
parking meters, 50 cents an hour.
